HARKING BACK TO THE INDUSTRIAL PAST OF THE GREAT NORTHERN

Lucha Libre is a Mexican Street Food concept restaurant that serves authentic Mexican food with a contemporary twist. Their interior decor however, reflects the industrial past of the building itself.

Originally the Great Northern Railway Company’s goods warehouse, the building now contains a cinema, casino and bowling alley. Lucha Libre is the latest addition to this historic steel framed, blue and red brick building and it pays homage to its past by utilising raw wood, metal and concrete textures. Reclaimed wood was also used to craft the tables and barrel tops and painted in bright colours to reflect a Mexican theme.
